EVOLUTION VOLLEYBALL CLUB        

Evolution Volleyball Club began with the concept of high exposure at minimum expense.  It began during the 2008-2009 club season with a Franconia Volleyball Club team called FVC17U Blackout.  The idea was to provide the maximum exposure for a group of talented athletes without the high cost of Travel Volleyball.  We achieved this by attending several multi-day tournaments within a 4-5 hour driving distance from the Washington Metropolitan area.  Our coaches volunteered to be part of this experimental team.  Our recruiting coordinator helped our athletes who are interested in playing at the collegiate level to connect with College coaches.

In the 08/09 season, the 17’s Blackout team attended the Monument City Classic, Capitol Hill Classic, Shamrock Festival, Baltimore North East Qualifier, and South Atlantic Championships.  The team medaled in Shamrock Festival and South Atlantic Championships, placed 9^th out of 24 teams in Monument City Classic, 41^st out of 68 teams at the Capitol Hill Classic and 33^rd out of 96 teams at the Baltimore NEQ.  For a regional travel club team, those numbers are not bad. The College coaches seem to agree based on the number of contacts our athletes received after participating in those tournaments.  The Blackout team placed higher than most of the regional club teams in the CHRVA region, and higher than some national travel teams.  The best thing was, all 5 of our athletes who wanted to play at the college level were noticed by many coaches and recruiters, and even resulted in a full scholarship offer to our one and only senior athlete.

In addition to the multi-day tournaments, the Blackout team also attended 6 local tournaments including the CHRVA Open Regional Championships. They medaled in 3 of them.  At the end of the season, the Blackout team ranked 8^th out of 48 teams in the 17’s age group of the CHRVA region, regional and travel teams included.  All this was accomplished with a price tag that came below most regional clubs’ cost.

With the tremendous success of the 17 Blackout team, we were inspired to form an entire club based on this concept.  We fielded 5 teams – one for each 14s, 15’s, 16’s, 17’s, and 18’s age group.  We have a team of experienced coaches, as well as a recruiting coordinator who will help guide parents and athletes in the recruiting process.  We are planning to attend 4-6 multi-day tournaments, and 4-6 local tournaments.  The club fee includes uniform, gym facilities, all tournament fees, all hotel accommodations for the athletes and coaches, all coaches’ stipends, and administrative fees.

Although providing high exposure to our athletes is one of our goals, Evolution is not only home for athletes who want to play at the college level, but also for serious volleyball players who simply wish to take their skills to the next level.  We look for athletes who enjoy competing at a higher level, and who are committed to the sport of volleyball.  Our main mission is to help our athletes evolve to reach their maximum potential as athletes and as people.  Come join us in our mission, and be part of something very special…a new type of club
